Checking the TIC and PR of a website: what is the difference

Post by subornaakter40 »

So, TIC is a Yandex indicator. There is also PageRank (PR) – a Google search engine indicator.

The value of the thematic citation index applies to the entire site and is calculated in tens. That is, the TIC cannot be equal to one, two, three, etc. The TIC indicator is at least 0, and then immediately 10. Then the indicator is calculated with a gap of 10 points, that is, 20, 30, 40, and so on.

The PR indicator differs from the TIC in loadrunner protocol list that its scale consists of 10 points - the value can range from 0 to 10. Another significant difference is that PR is assigned to each page individually, and not to the entire web resource as a whole.

Each of the indexed pages has its own thematic weight. It is influenced by various parameters, such as the length of stay on the Internet, as well as the quality and number of sites that link to it.

But Yandex has, in addition to TIC , another significant indicator that allows you to judge how authoritative your web resource is. This indicator is called wCI (weighted citation index). There is a similarity between the wCI and PR algorithms, which cannot be said about the TIC algorithms.

However, one nuance should be remembered. If it is possible to check PR, at least its approximate value (toolbar), then there are simply no suitable services for checking VIC. Moreover, no one knows what algorithm is used to calculate VIC.

The VIC and PR indicators determine the number of incoming links to your web resource page and calculate how much each of them weighs. These algorithms give search engines the opportunity to take into account how high-quality a particular link is.

That is, algorithms of this type can distinguish which resource has linked to your blog - a high-quality trusted site or a resource created very recently, which does not have any statistical weight. The weight of your site pages depends on the quality of the resources linking to your blog.

If you believe the search engines Yandex and Google, the positions of your queries in the search results do not depend on the TIC and PR indicators. A logical question arises - why is it important for all webmasters to increase these indicators for their resources? This can be explained in different ways. Here are the most significant arguments:

Almost all SEO optimizers strive to increase TIC and PR in order to calm down .

Most specialists understand perfectly well that TIC and PR are not of primary importance in search engine promotion. However, many bloggers are very concerned about the fact that resources with similar topics do not have these indicators at zero.

Most bloggers start to get nervous about the fact that a competitor's web resource has a TIC of 100. But, in their opinion, their resource is no worse, although its positions are lower. And here the competition begins - checking the TIC of the site and optimizing the resource.

After a blogger optimizes a site, adjusts its parameters to what he considers ideal, and the resource catches up with the competitor’s site, a feeling of satisfaction comes.

There are people in the Internet who belong to a category for whom high TIC and PR indicators are important.

But they don't fully understand why they need it. Of course, in some cases, the higher the TIC and PR, the better. These indicators can indirectly indicate the authority of your Internet site on the Web.

Find out how
Here we will consider only TIC. Although, according to Yandex, nothing depends on this indicator, the search engine still limits the actions of sites if its numerical value is zero .

Let's assume that the TIC of your resource does not reach even 10 points. In this case, you cannot protect your content by all possible methods, although for a newly created resource this is very important. Because of this argument, most optimizers improve the indicators.

And finally, the final point is selling links.

This factor has the greatest impact on optimizers, forcing them to continuously check and improve the TIC and PR of the site. The thing is that the higher these indicators, the more likely it is that the site owner will be able to earn money by selling links.

However, as has been said before, through links the page loses its weight. When selling links on your web resource, you give part of the weight to the site to which you place the link. And when the site loses weight, its PR and TIC fall. It's a vicious circle.
