Qlik Sense Desktop vs Qlik Sense Enterprise

Post by seonajmulislam00 »

Just as many industries offer products in different versions, aimed at meeting the demand of each market segment, the same happens in the world of Business Intelligence and, particularly, in Qlik Sense .

Platforms are beginning to focus their attention on the needs and abilities of users to develop new data analysis and discovery technologies tailored to each segment.

“Some people want quick and easy visualizations that can be developed with little help or dependency on others. They also want an easy way to share or the ability to work on it together. Others want purpose-built and fully customized applications,” explains Michael Tarallo in one of his posts on the Qlik Community .

Below we present the main advantages of the two versions of Qlik Sense – Qlik Sense Desktop and Qlik Sense Enterprise -, according to the analysis carried out by the European company Butler Analytics .

Qlik Sense Desktop
Qlik Sense Desktop is the entry level of the product austria number data and the full version is available for free download . This ready-to-use application easily connects to desktop data sources such as Excel and CSV files, and starting with version 2.0, the task of connecting to other data sources has become much easier.

Once the data is accessible, it is loaded into the memory associative engine where it is compressed for speed. Performance is very good as long as the data fits in memory, and since it is compressed, a huge amount of data can be accommodated.

Virtually any type of chart is supported. The core structure of Qlik Sense is the sheet: it can contain charts, tables, images and filters. A sheet can consist of many visualizations.

The desktop version supports distribution of visualizations via file. To add even more appeal to the desktop version and to whet appetite, Qlik Sense Cloud allows users to upload visualizations and share them with up to 5 users, again for free.

Data exploration capabilities are helped considerably by the associative engine. This color codes data sources to indicate the relationship they have to data sources already in use. Green indicates a data source that is already in use, white means there is an association (which you may not yet be aware of), and gray indicates no relationship.

Qlik Sense Enterprise
Qlik Sense Enterprise , server-based, provides similar capabilities to the desktop version, but with added collaboration elements, mobile access, scalability, data management, governance and platform management as well as a distributed architecture.

Users gain full functionality through a browser-based interface, even on mobile devices. Visualizations can be created, viewed, shared, and managed through this single interface.

Intelligent resizing of charts and objects means that visualizations fit the screen of almost any device – a natural result of the fact that Qlik Sense was built for mobile and touch devices.
