This is possible thanks to spammers who obtain your email address incorrectly

You may send emails to these accounts without even knowing that they are fake. And depending on the type of trap, having it on your email list can significantly affect the deliverability of the rest of your emails. If you send an email to spamtrap accounts, the server will flag you as a bad practice. And for antispam tools and providers, you may become a spammer. Or, in other words, your reputation will already be affected. Types of spamtraps you may face 1.- Pure spamtraps These are accounts created for the sole purpose of catching spammers .

They are created secretly, so they never receive emails from anyone. Imagine you create an account but don't tell anyone. And suddenly you start receiving messages. These are the most dangerous gmail email list traps and may have entered our database via crawling. 2.- Recycled spamtraps Recycled traps are those emails that once existed, but were closed for different reasons. Either due to inactivity or because the owner himself wanted to close it. These are less aggressive traps because they have been sending inactivity alerts for a certain period of time.

Although it may also happen that a provider takes over abandoned accounts and reuses them for these purposes. And for this, two phases are executed: In the first case, these accounts will indicate a high level of hard bounce. This will let you know that the account does not exist. Spam traps will then be activated to find out if emails are still being sent to that account and to discover that the owner is not following good practices by not keeping their database clean. How do spamtraps get into your email list? At this point, you will first want to know if your email list is exposed to this problem.
