Major Changes in Regulations

Daily Call Limitation: For the same number, telephone companies will be limited to making a maximum number of collection calls per day. This limitation seeks to reduce the frequency of contacts, avoiding situations of harassment to consumers.

Hours to Cancel: Consumers will have a period of hours to dispute and cancel any charges they believe are unfair. This measure provides consumers with a reasonable window of time to review and dispute possible unfair charges.

In addition to Anatel's regulations, the Ministry of Justice and Public Security is developing a registration system for debt collection companies.
