In recent months, a lot of information about Google has become public - including the topics of re-ranking and Twiddler. What is this all about? What strategic recommendations follow from it? Why do we need to adapt our SEO mindset as a result? Let's talk about it - with Hanns Kronenberg from Chefkoch.
Re-Ranking and Twiddler: How do you win the race?
Markus Hövener: Welcome to Search Camp Episode 344, today with the topic of re-ranking. But I don't want to do this alone. So I've invited Mr. Re-Ranking, Hanns Kronenberg, today. Hello Hanns, hello.
Hi Markus, thanks for the invitation.
You should know him. I remember meeting you back then, physically at least, in the Captain's Bar at SEO:CAMPIXX. To be honest, I don't remember what year or decade it was, but it was quite a while ago. It's been a long time, yes.
Really, yes, exactly. You are currently lead SEO manager at Chefkoch and therefore of course a member of the large RTL family. We hear and see a lot about you there, and before that you were also Head chile phone number data of Marketing at SISTRIX - a tool that everyone should know about. And re-ranking is one of the topics you have been talking about a lot recently. That's why we're talking about it today. And maybe a quick note from me beforehand: I'm going to ask a pretty stupid question - not because I've never heard of the topic before, but of course because I'm trying to work out the most important points for you out there.
Hanns, I watched one of your presentations on the subject and you had a very nice, understandable image right at the beginning. You write or say: "Re-ranking is actually like a Formula 1 race, consisting of qualifying and the race." So there is basically the starting grid and then something magical happens, namely the big race. Can you use this image as an example to explain what re-ranking actually means at Google?
