Is your newsletter design up-to-date?
Whether dark mode, animated or retro – there is something for everyone
Of course, content is still king, but nice packaging never hurts. It's the same with mailings: people just don't like reading a few bare lines of text without any design. A nicely designed newsletter makes you want to read the content much more. As with most other things in life, there are trends in newsletter design that are constantly evolving. Just take a look at newsletters from the early 2000s, for example - it's probably not something you would find nice today.

To ensure that your newsletter is not only up-to-date in terms of content but also visually, we have summarized the most important trends for current newsletter design for you.

Dark Mode

As we already wrote in our comprehensive blog post " Email lithuania phone number data marketing trends - a look into the future ", dark mode is currently very popular. The dark design is not only popular because of the lower energy consumption. Many people simply like the modern appearance. Since email users have the choice of viewing their emails in normal or dark mode, it makes sense to make another adjustment so that dark mode is possible in addition to the often light design. Of course, emails can also be designed in a dark design in principle.

However, when adapting the existing design to dark mode, a few points must be considered:

1. Images should be converted to formats that allow transparency – such as PNG or SVG.

2. Dark graphics (images, icons, symbols) on a black background are barely recognizable and the same applies vice versa for light graphics on a white background. So work with outlines, for example, to maintain the contrast even with inverted design.

3. The choice of colors used is also important. In dark mode, particularly strong and bright colors are recommended, such as orange or royal blue.

4. The design must look good and work well on both a white and a black background. Therefore, it is essential to test it.
