2. Domain Authority

Domain Authority is a third-party metric developed by Moz to help marketers determine the strength of their website. While Google isn't completely transparent about its ranking algorithm, DA is a scoring system you can use to compare websites. Domain Authority is a good qualifying metric when building outreach lists. Generally speaking, the higher a site's DA, the broader their audience and the more likely they are to have a wide organic syndication network.

A good rule of thumb is to choose publishers with a domain paraguay mobile database authority of 60 or higher for your outreach list, depending on what you’re promoting. Moz has created a free Google Chrome extension called MozBar that you can use to check the DA of the news publishers in your list.

3. Social participation

The goal of any good outreach campaign should be to get your content seen as much as possible among your target audience. For example, if you represent a fitness brand and promote jogging-related content, who better to reach than a health and fitness journalist at a lifestyle publication who is active on social media and has a wide reach? And, how would you find this journalist?

Buzzsumo is a tool every marketer should have—I use it every day to help find the most powerful influencers in any given niche. Here’s how a quick Buzzsumo search can help you figure out who to pitch to in just minutes.

For this example, I wrote "fitness writer." Buzzsumo allows you to filter the results, and for this query, I selected bloggers, influencers, companies, and journalists (I deselected "regular people"). I also selected "active influencer" to ensure this person is active on social media and "verified influencer" to weed out unverified Twitter users. Once you've entered your query and selected your filters, click "Search."
