Particular attention should be paid to the quality of the edges and the seams between them and the surface (the surface of the board). If the seams are not made well enough, water will get into them over time (for example, during wet cleaning of the premises) and the MDF (like the chipboard) will "swell". At the same time, the chipboard is much less moisture-resistant.

But MDF reacts more strongly to the effects of ecuador mobile database temperatures. Furniture made of MDF should not be placed too close to heating devices - it may warp.

But even if all the furniture elements are made with high quality, it should not be forgotten that MDF and chipboard are mass-produced materials that are, to varying degrees (according to various characteristics), inferior to furniture made from properly dried and processed wood. In other words, even the best furniture made from panel materials usually lasts no more than 10-25 years (depending on the quality of the original materials and the care with which it is handled).

Don't be shy about smelling the furniture. Yes, just smell it. Materials that are manufactured in violation of the technological process smell. We are not talking about the smell of wood. We are talking about the specific smells of impregnations. Moreover, the smell of furniture that is on display should "dissipate". If the chemical smell remains, think about whether it is worth the risk. Ask the salon consultant for a certificate, ask him to show what class of chipboard is indicated.

Brief conclusions

MDF is moisture resistant, but is afraid of high temperatures.
Laminated chipboard is moisture-resistant, provided that the surface is intact and the edges are of good quality.
If you decide to buy a set with straight facades, you can buy furniture made of laminated chipboard, which does not bend, so you will save money. But if you like curved and rounded facades, you need MDF.
Furniture with a laminated finish will last less than laminated board.
A kitchen countertop with postforming treatment will last longer.
Veneer will give an ordinary wood panel the noble look of natural wood and will be easier to maintain.
The most important thing is, no matter what furniture you choose, take care of it properly, and it will serve you for a long time!
