Traditional marketing is associated by some marketers with the ancient times, when the internet was still in its infancy. The scale of the transformation is so large that many of them will not even consider placing an advert for their brand on the radio, television or a paper newspaper. The question I will answer in the following post is – what is the reason for this approach and not another.

It has been known for a long time that digital marketing is gradually replacing traditional marketing. This is probably the most important trend of this century, which is simply not good to be unaware of in marketing.

Just two decades ago, the average consumer purchasing process might have looked (and sometimes still does, but more on that later) like this:

A certain consumer (let's call him Adam) was reading his favorite newspaper with local news , as he did every Monday .

At some point he came across an ad for a product that interested him. He read the description (in the ad) and decided that when he was in the store in the next few days, he would buy it.

A few days later, Adam goes to the store, finds the product on new zealand telegram data the shelf and makes a purchase.

Today, Adam's path would probably look slightly different:

Adam, like every morning, scrolls through Facebook – reads news from around the world, watches memes, and checks what's new with his friends.

At some point, he comes across a sponsored post of a product he's been searching for on the internet for a few days. The one in the ad seems like the perfect option.

Without much thought, they click on the ad, read the product details on the seller's website, and after a moment, they decide to buy it. They move the product to the basket, choose a payment method, and click the "order" button.

As we can see, the change is dramatic and it is worth taking a closer look at it.

There are thousands of articles discussing how the transformation from traditional to digital marketing takes place and what it manifests itself in.

However, in order not to reinvent the wheel, I will focus on a different topic today, namely why this transformation is taking place in the first place.
