How much attention is there for nature on social media?

Post by Bappy11 »

What is more beautiful than young boars in a morning forest? Perhaps the call of a hawk or a red deer that looks at you while ruminating between the trees? Natuurmonumenten has a 'product' with a great experience. Does the beauty and silence of nature lend itself to hectic social media? Yes, indeed! The forest rangers share their experiences on Facebook and Twitter.

On the corporate page of Natuurmonumenten I see 8,332 fans; not many for an organization with 730,000 members. That is why I called Jeffrey van Heck , online marketing advisor of Natuurmonumenten. Fortunately, there is more reach than I thought: 310,000 people per month. According to Jeffrey, this is because there are many more visitors than fans: “ A huge number of people share our photos, videos and messages with others. This creates good exposure.” It is the content of the page that determines the success.

The 'light green tone'
There are beautiful images on the Facebook page of Natuurmonumenten: a dragonfly iran telegram data sits on a branch in the rain, hamsters have a nest in a Dutch meadow and the sea eagle fills an entire area. Looking at the site makes me feel peaceful and light. The design of the website was created very consciously. Jeffrey: “We have chosen what we call the 'light green tone'. That means that we show a lot of images and emphasize the beauty of nature, the enjoyment. That used to be very different.”
