Having a static IP address ensures that your device will maintain the same IP address, making it easier to set up NAT and port forwarding.

Go to Settings Win+I > Network & Internet > Advanced network settings.

Select the connection type EthernetWi-Fi to expand and view the corresponding settings.

Click View advanced properties, and then click Edit in the IP Assignment section.


In the pop-up window, select Manual from the drop-down menu.

Then fill in your network details in the fields below:

IP Address: Choose a unique address from your router's range, usually between 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.254 .

Alternate DNS: Select a secondary DNS, such as 1.0.0.1 Cloudflare , to ensure continued service in the event of a failure of the primary.
After filling in the details, click Save to set a static IP address for your computer.
