A news overview: the most important at the top

Post by Bappy11 »

Facebook is launching a new feature. In addition to the subscribe button and the lists from last week, which give you control over what you see from whom and what you share with whom, Facebook is also going to make significant changes to the news feed. Based on your visit frequency, Facebook will now determine which information is relevant to you. Facebook is also introducing the Ticker; real-time updates of what your friends 'like', 'comment' and 'update'.

According to contributor Mark Tonkelowitz, it’s not just the people you get updates from ghana phone number list that are important, it’s also how often you check your news feed. If you haven’t been back in a week, you might want to see summaries of the most important stories at the top. If you check regularly, you probably want the most recent news at the top. Facebook will now determine what information is relevant to you based on your lists, subscriptions, and the frequency with which you visit Facebook.

In the blog, in which Facebook makes this announcement, the comparison is made with a newspaper. Instead of the important stories on the front page, everything was in chronological order. With this change, Facebook would work more like your personal newspaper. The 'most recent' and 'most important' streams disappear. Everything comes in 1 single news feed. If you have been away for a while, you will mainly see photos and status updates that were posted while you were away at the top, they are marked with a blue corner at the top left (top story).

If you look regularly, you will see the most recent stories first. Photos will be larger (nice!) and therefore much clearer without clicking.
