Google Consent Mode V2 is a must for your website

Post by samiaseo222 »

Consent Mode V2 allows you to adjust the behavior of Google brands based on users' consent status and will be a requirement starting March 2024. Are you ready?
In March 2024, a new version of Google Consent Mode, called V2, will come into force, responding to recent legislative changes in the field of personal data protection, in particular in response to the Digital iran phone number data Market Regulation (DMA) . The Google Consent Mode V2 update aims to enable websites to more effectively respect user privacy while providing them with mechanisms to collect the necessary data for their normal functioning. In this way, it seeks to adapt to the new legal requirements and data protection standards brought by the DMA. For websites and their operators, this means not only adapting to the new rules, but also optimizing consent procedures so that they are as efficient as possible and respect the individual preferences of users regarding the treatment of their personal data.

How the new regulations work
The Digital Market Acts (DMA) are a European law that aims to prevent large online platforms that connect consumers with content, goods and services from abusing their market power and restricting competition. The DMA targets the largest digital platforms operating in the European Union, known as “ Gatekeepers ”. Gatekeepers are digital platforms that provide so-called essential platform services, such as online search engines, app stores, communication services. The gatekeepers must comply with a list of obligations and prohibitions set out in the DMA. The DMA is one of the first regulatory instruments to comprehensively regulate the power of the largest digital companies.

To be classified as a "gatekeeper" within the European Union, a company must meet specific criteria, such as impacting the lives of more than 45 million users in the EU, having more than 10,000 corporate customers and generating a turnover exceeding €7.5 billion. The list of these specific "Gatekeepers" is publicly available on the European Commission's website.
