The augmented reality game Pokémon Go was launched this month in Brazil and has become a craze in the country, as it has been around the world. The main objective of the game is to capture the famous Pokémon that are scattered around various places. To find them, players need to explore the real world, which requires them to move to different points in the city.
By visiting certain locations, Pokémon Go players can receive bonuses. These locations are called PokeStops. They are usually associated with statues, memorials, and other important or unique features of a city. At these locations, players can collect new Poké Balls and increase their power level within the app.
Savvy entrepreneurs have already found ways to reach new customers through the game. Many businesses are attracting players using a feature called the Attraction Module, placing Pokémon in their businesses (and paying a few dollars for it). If the game gets people moving, these businesses can sponsor locations and, in this way, attract countless players to their space – people who can consume their products or services.

There are also so-called lures, which are devices used in the game canadian consumer email lists to attract Pokémon to a specific area. In the United States, you can already buy them for $1. However, lures also work to attract people to a certain location. They guarantee a crowd of players searching for Pokémon.
Pizza bar L'inizio in Long Island, New York, says its sales jumped 75 percent over the weekend after activating its Lure Module feature that attracts virtual Pokémon characters to the store. The manager spent $10 to have a dozen characters placed in the store, according to a report in the New York Post.
Experts believe it is only a matter of time before big brands join this movement that is attracting media attention. But small businesses have already started to benefit from this new global craze.
