4 Reasons NOT to Buy Instagram Followers

1. Fake followers don't interact
None of my Instagram accounts received a single like or comment, despite their new followers.

How can anyone resist Rosie's floppy ears? None of my fake followers seemed to mind.

Of course, it's normal that buying followers doesn't lead to increased engagement. You have to pay for that too.

If that's not possible, you can always try the new "hack": Instagram bolivia phone number data Engagement Pods ( we tried them, but without success).

2. Fake followers are obviously… fake
Anyone who looks at my follower ratio can guess that my followers are fake. Unless you're Beyoncé or Adele, following one or two accounts won't get you many followers in return.

If users check my follower list, their suspicions will be confirmed. My new followers often have names that look like they were randomly typed on a keyboard (lots of meaningless numbers and letters), they usually only have a few posts, their photos are random, and they almost never post Stories.

So you have to ask yourself whether you prefer to have a large number of subscribers or to maintain your dignity (official brands choose the second option).

3. Brands will blacklist you
Rosie won't last long as an influencer if potential partners vet her account with just the simplest Instagram verification tool.

I was quite surprised by the results of this tool. Frankly, I should be getting a score of 1%, not 19%.

The IG Audit tool was designed by a NASA scientist and could analyze 200 subscribers based on well-defined criteria (before his tragic death in late 2019). So we know that about 40 of my fake subscribers look like they're legitimate at the very least, at least for this software. Regardless, for a potential partner, this result won't be convincing.

4. Instagram may suspend your account
Instagram has a vested interest in making users want to spend time on its platform, but an army of fraudulent accounts isn't going to make it more human or engaging. As a result, Instagram has taken numerous steps to minimize unwanted behavior on its platform.

Fake accounts are regularly deleted, which means your followers can disappear at any time.
