Staff Reporter: 'After taking office, Pakistan's new Prime Minister Imran Khan said that within the next 5 years, the country's education system will be upgraded to the level of Sweden. In response to his plan, Pakistani experts told Imran Khan, "Take 10 years if necessary, not 5 years, and upgrade the education system to the level of Bangladesh."
Praising the quality of the country's education system, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said this at a reception and scholarship distribution ceremony for meritorious students at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) on Friday (September 14) morning.
Like every year, a reception was held for the members of DRU whose children passed the 2018 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) examinations with a country email list GPA of 5. The reception was held at the Round Table Auditorium of DRU.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid was the chief guest at the reception presided over by DRU President Saiful Islam, and SBAC Bank Managing Director and Executive Officer Md. Golam Faruk was the special guest.
This time, 17 students who passed the SSC examination with GPO-5 and 6 students who passed the HSC were felicitated. Each student was given a crest, a certificate and 2,000 taka.
Noting that the government is focused on the quality of education in line with Article 4 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SGD), the Education Minister said, "The goal and objective of the current government is to develop the current and future generations as good human beings through quality education."
Calling for pointing out any mistakes or flaws in the education system, the Education Minister said, "If there are any mistakes, please tell us, we welcome it. Because we want to build a quality education system. We want to move forward, so everyone's cooperation is needed."
"I pray that the current and future generations will be even greater, surpassing us."
The program was conducted by DRU General Secretary Syed Shukur Ali Shuvo. Joint Secretary Moin Uddin, Welfare Secretary Kawsar Azam, Sports Secretary Arafat Daria and others were present.
