19% of Spaniards choose to use online banking, while branches are the channel chosen by 54% of users, whose choice is determined by age and internet access, according to a study carried out by Forrester.
This research reveals that the use of traditional banking has fallen by 3% since 2006 and that the use of the Internet for banking transactions has increased fivefold since 2001, although it is bank data still a domain for young people.
The reasons given by users of physical branches are the trust they feel in employees in 39% of cases, the fact that they have always done it this way, a reason stressed by 37% of those surveyed, and that they like to talk while carrying out their transactions, a reason that brings 29% of those interviewed to the office.
This survey reveals that there is a lack of an effective communication strategy on the effectiveness and time savings of online banking, as well as information on the security of these practices.
