WEB 2.0, KNOWN BUT WITH LITTLE PARTICIPATION

Post by asimj1 »

Web applications that require more personal involvement from the user, such as social networks or virtual communities, are only visited by 36% and 32% respectively of users who have visited them at some point or regularly contribute to them, although three quarters of those interviewed say they are familiar with these types of Web 2.0 applications. This is one of the main data from the study "Digital World, Digital Life" by TNS . In contrast, almost all Internet users are familiar with chat rooms, forums, photo and video sharing sites, message boards and blogs (93%, 92%, 92%, 90% and 89% respectively), and around six out of ten have visited them at some point or actively participate in them.

By age, those over 45 are the ones who bc data philippines visit or contribute to this type of website the least, although around half of them say they have visited or contributed to bulletin boards (53%) or opinion forums (49%). Those under 24, who are the most active in all the Web 2.0 applications analysed, stand out for their participation in video and photo sharing sites (72% have visited them at some point and/or contribute to them) and in blogs (68%).

At an international level, the uses given to Web 2.0 are generally more widespread among Spanish Internet users than among the other countries participating in the study, although they continue to be reluctant to use applications that require greater personal involvement. For example, Spain is above average in users who have visited or regularly participate in blogs, bulletin boards, forums or chats, while we are still below average in terms of social networks or sites for sharing photos and videos.
