Carrd (II). What you should keep in mind when creating your website with Carrd

Post by ayeshshiddika11 »

If you're determined to create your website with Carrd, you should first consider a few important things, such as the type of domain you want to use, how to get an SSL certificate, or whether you want to use Cloudflare.

In addition, we will explain how to edit meta tags for SEO, or how to configure Google Analytics or the Facebook pixel, among other things.

Let's get started!

Using a custom domain
(requires Pro Standard or higher)

Sites on Carrd can be list of phone numbers philippines published on .carrd.co URLs, custom domains, and custom subdomains. To publish a site on a registered custom domain, follow these steps:

Click Publish
Set up a URL to use my own domain.
Enter the domain name exactly as you want it to appear in the address bar (either domain.ext or www.domain.ext). The version you're not using will automatically redirect to the other; in other words, using domain.ext will automatically redirect to www.domain.ext and vice versa.
Scroll down a bit to locate the site host records. These will “point” the domain to the Carrd site and usually need to be set up with your domain provider. For most domains, you will be asked to add the following records:
An A record pointing to the first destination IP address listed (for example, xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx)
An A record pointing to the second destination IP address shown (e.g. yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy)
A CNAME record that points www to the base domain (e.g. domain.ext)
Not sure how to do this? Select your domain provider for specific instructions:

You’re done… almost. Your domain should now be initialized, which is an automatic process that can take up to an hour to complete (though it’s usually much quicker than that). Once initialized, you’ll be able to access the site using the custom domain you just set up (and do so over SSL). Note that if you’re using Cloudflare, be sure to follow these additional steps as well.
